My Masterpiece!

This week is teacher appreciation week at Kyler's school. I am the room mom for his class, so I was in charge of decorating his teacher's door. This is my masterpiece!

And this is the recipe for Miss Coleman's success!

Each day I prepared a small gift for Kyler's teacher. This is the Thursday gift.

This is one of the Friday gifts.

This flower goes in the bouquet of flowers below. I had each child sign their name on the inside of the flower center.

This is also a Friday gift. I couldn't decide on 5 gift ideas so I went with 6! I am also going to make cookies for the whole class and take them on Friday. I didn't think of taking pics earlier so I'll just have to tell you what the Monday - Wednesday gifts were. Monday was a basket of fresh strawberries with a note that said "You're the BERRY best teacher!" Tuesday was a package of paper clips shaped like the number 1 with a note that said "You really 'hold' this class together!" Wednesday was a big box of microwave popcorn with a note that said "The way you teach is 'poppin' good!" Fun, fun fun!!!

Let's make something delicious!

I got this recipe from my Aunt Bonita. She is one of the best cooks I know. It is so easy to make! You can put this in one 9"x13" pan or split the butter and the mixture into two 9"x13" pans. I like to do two pans cooked together for the same amount of time.
German Pancakes puff up in your oven as they cook. I always turn the oven light on when I cook these because the kids really like to watch them grow!
We like to put peanut butter, raspberry jam, and syrup on ours. So good!

Kyler and MacKelle

Kyler and MacKelle wanted to get on the pbskids website today and play some Super Why games. First Kyler helped MacKelle spell words so she could make her own superhero.
Then they helped each other spell words to earn pictures to fill in the jewel spots on their crowns. How cute are these two!

The Easter Bunny came to our house!

We have the paw prints to prove it!

He hid the eggs that we decorated........

and he brought us new kites!

Thank you Easter Bunny! What a great Easter morning!

Easter Eggs with the boys

This is how we do Easter eggs at our house. Usually we also have feathers, pom pom balls, wiggly eye balls and whatever other fun things we can think of, but I wasn't as on top of things this Easter as I usually am. So this is what we came up with: Wiggly eared aliens, a silly creature with giant eyes, two bunnies, and an airplane with smoke coming out of the rocket shooter.
Here are the boys getting started on the egg coloring/decorating craziness!


We like to wrap eggs with rubber bands and then put them in the colors.

After this egg dried, we took off the rubber band, re-wrapped it, and then stuck it in blue.

And this is what it turned out looking like. Funky isn't it!

Here are some more of our rubber banded eggs. They are so fun to do and so easy too!

Now it's time to wait for the Easter Bunny to come so he can hide them and the boys can find them. How exciting!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Every year out here there is an Easter egg hunt the Saturday morning before Easter. It is held at the park and fair grounds. There are different age groups in different areas. It works out pretty well that way.
Ryker was so funny while we were waiting for the hunt to begin. I thought he looked so cute with his turtle basket upside down on his head.

Nope, he's not reaching down for an egg here. He pretty much lost interest in the egg hunt when he realized that there was sand to be played with.

Kyler was in the oldest kids group this year for the first time!

Wow! I can't believe he's getting so big.

You'd never know that Corden made a haul on the egg hunt seeing this sour look on his face. He even got a prize egg and won this book and cassette tape (the crummy look is because there was also a toy gun on the table for a prize for someone else and he wanted it!) What a stinker!

This miniature horse and buggy was what the Easter Bunny came to the park in! After the hunt was over, the kids got to go for a ride too! They had so much fun!

So I totally won this fabulous key fob!!
I found this awesome blog one night while blog hopping. The woman that does this blog is amazing! She is so crafty. I love checking her blog to see what new things she will do. I was on her blog one day and she had made a bunch of these cute key fobs and she was doing a giveaway. So I left her a comment because I totally wanted to try to win one! I never thought I actually would, but I did! I was so excited. I just got it in the mail a few days ago and I love it. I can't wait to use it the next time I go to town.

Spring Break Road Trip

We wanted to go on a road trip for spring break this year.
We weren't exactly sure where we were going to go when we started out.
We just flew by the seats of our pants and decided along the way!

This is Delicate Arch at Arches National Park in Southern Utah.

We found three lizards on our trip. The first two were the same color as the dirt and are kind of hard to see in the pictures.

So I chose to put this guy on our blog for your viewing pleasure. I think he enjoyed getting his photo taken. He just sat there and let us take as many pictures as we wanted. What a nice little lizard.

Stan, Kyler and Corden climbed up into the hole in this rock.

This was their silly picture. I think it's really cute!

Ryker walked and walked and walked until he got to this beautiful site!

It was quite a hike and he did it all by himself.

He's such an independent little bugger!

I am so glad for people who offer to take pictures for you so that you can have at least one picture with your whole family while on vacation.

Stan was taking a picture of me with the boys and this nice girl asked if he wanted to be in the picture with the family. I love it!

What a fun trip! We stayed in motels along the way and the boys loved playing in the swimming pools and soaking in the hot tubs at each one. We stopped just outside of Moab and let Kyler and Corden put some red dirt in baggies to show their classes for show and tell. They were excited about that. You just don't see red dirt where we come from!

We're home now and I guess it's back to normal life again, you know, where you sleep in your own bed, you cook your own meals, and you walk places instead of driving to each place!

Now that I think about it.... I hope our next vacation comes soon!
