Fair Entries

This past week was Fair Week out here. They have different sections in the fair building where you can enter things that you have made to be on display during the fair and rodeo. This is what Kyler and Corden entered:

This is what I entered:

pictures, scrapbook pages, crayon and twistable rolls, bib, chick notebook, recipe binder, no sew tu-tu, car seat blanket cover

This is the recipe book that I entered. We made these for an activity for Young Women's.

Inside the little binder are different sections. Each of the young women and leaders brought 3 recipes each and everyone got copies of them to put into their binders.

This is the "no sew tu-tu" that I entered. So easy and so cute. It's going to be a birthday present for my friend Annette's little girl MacKelle! (So don't let her see this Annette!) :o)

This is the carseat blanket cover that I entered. I was so excited when I saw that I got the reserve champion ribbon! How exciting!

I saw someone in town one day with one of these and just had to make one! So when Jefferey and Victoria had Jack I made one for them with their left over material from Jacks nursery bedding set. (It turned out really cute. Wish I had taken a picture. I'll have to see if they have one.)
I got this bee material with plans to make this for our next family reunion auction.

The ribbons tie to the handle leaving room for you to pick up your carseat without a bulky blanket in between your hand and the handle. This also makes it so that the blanket is held up and off of your baby's face.

Then when you want to see your cute baby's face, you just fold the blanket cover under. How fun is that! Thanks McKenna for letting me use your carseat for these photos!

I love fair and rodeo week. On Thursday we had our parade and our junior rodeo. My mom, Grandma O., Judy, and John all came out for the craziness! Thanks for coming, it was great to hang out with all of you! Our wrecker float won the commercial grand champion ribbon. The boys rode sheep after the parade in the junior rodeo. Kyler fell off after a couple seconds, after hitting his leg on the chute on the way out! Corden rode it out underneath his sheep and got kicked under the chin when he finally let go! He has a nice bruise and lump to show for it! My mom has all of these pics on her camera so when I get copies, I will post them.

Spray Park Fun!

We spent Tuesday in Rexburg with Danielle, Carson and McKenna.

First we went to the movie, (I didn't take any pics there) then we went to the spray park.I think Ryker was giving Carson the 411 on the slide!

Not a spelling bee.....

Last night Kyler got stung on the right ring finger by a bee. He broke out in a rash all over his chest, belly, and back and his finger swelled up. I gave him benadryl and the rash went away, but his finger was still swollen. When he got up this morning his whole hand was swollen!
So I called down to the clinic and asked the nurse if she thought I should bring him in. She told the doctor and he said to come right down! So off we went. Well, the benadryl took care of the allergic reaction- however, the bee sting is infected! The doctor said it was good that I brought him in because in a matter of 12 hours it may have spread halfway up his arm and kept traveling! So hopefully the oral antibiotics will work and he won't have to go back in and get the shot. We're supposed to watch it very closely for the next couple of days to make sure that the swelling doesn't go up his arm any further and that no more redness appears. Wish him luck! Dang bee! It does my little heart good knowing that when that stinger ripped off... that bee kicked the bucket! Serves him right for stinging my boy!

5 1/2 months!

Okay, it's been 5 1/2 months since I got these bad boys on! Thought it was a good time for an update. I had a rough couple of months at first, there was one of my teeth on the bottom that was turned in towards the other one and they had to make space in order to hook the bracket on that tooth into the wire. So I had springs pushing my other teeth apart so that they could get it hooked in there. So glad that part's over with! Those springs were a royal pain! I have been wearing elastics since the second appointment with the exception of last month. (It was so nice to have that month of elastic free time!) And can I tell you how much I love my headgear!!! Right now I have to wear three elastics. One triangle elastic on the left side, and one straight elastic and one triangle elastic on the right side. It's not very much fun, lots of pressure all the time! I am excited about my "extreme overjet" as my ortho called it though! Can you see how close my teeth are getting?! They are a little bit closer with the elastics on than they are with them off but I am so excited about my progress! 2 more years to go! (Hopefully less!) :o)

Baby Bouquet for Colt

My friend Pam had a new baby boy named Colt. This is the baby bouquet I made for him.
I painted the kabob sticks white to match and filled in the extra spaces with suckers, (making sure not to put any pink ones in.) Inside of the vase there are some starbursts and more suckers. (No pink in there either.) I like to add candy to these because that gives the older siblings and mom something too!

Rolled up on this side are a couple of blue onesie shirts and a striped pair of pants to match.

6 kids, 5 days, 4 nights = FUN!

We had so much fun having Reagan, Gavin and Payton out for a few days. Here are a whole bunch of pictures of some of the things that we did while they were visiting. Corden and Reagan were best pals the entire time! Which was a bit strange because these two can really butt heads. Of course we played in the water! (Every day except Sunday!)

We went four wheelin on Saturday. I had Payton on my back in the pack and Gavin in front of me.

And Stan had everyone else with him!

The kids sure loved to play with the marble run toy. We made it really tall so the kids had to go up the stairs to drop the marbles in.

We made smoothies on Saturday. Even Jett enjoyed some!

Payton would have eaten 10 popsicles if I would have let him! Oh wait, Payton would just keep eating forever if you let him!

We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows Saturday evening. Ryker was the most patient 2 and a half year old I've ever seen. His hot dog was perfect!

Everyone else... not quite as patient. But hot dogs roasted over a fire taste good no matter what they look like, right!

And of course, the marshmallows!

Reagan sure can eat a lot of smores!

And Kyler was a close tie for second!

Last but not least, we finally got the kite up Sunday afternoon. WoO HoO! We had tried before, but the wind was never windy enough to keep them up for long. So it was pretty exciting! What a fun week!

We Have Visitors!

So here's the situation... My awesome cuz Brandi watched my boys while I was at girls camp. So I am watching her three kids while her and her hubby Ryan are in Salt Lake. They got here yesterday, (Wed.) and will be staying with us until Sunday. It's gonna be some crazy fun around here!
